Hunting Safety Tips

  • Treat each and every gun as a loaded gun!
  • When calling turkey be sure to position yourself where you're protected from the back. Keep your back against a large tree trunk, large stump, rock pile or tree larger than your shoulders and higher than your head.
  • Never shoot at sound or movement. This can't be stressed enough. Here is where the majority of hunting accidents occur. Positively identify your target before releasing your gun safety.
  • Check your background before shooting. Be sure there is no chance for a line-of-fire accident to happen. This is another high occurrence hunting accident situation.
  • When walking in the woods before first light, use a flashlight. Not only does this identify you to other hunters, you can watch your step so you don't fall and cause yourself injury.
  • Be sure of your footing and control the muzzle of your gun. .
  • Choose safe and ethical hunting companions. Hunt defensively and be alert for those who don't. Don't be afraid to correct a friend's safety mistake. You might safe a life sometime.
  • Never mix alcohol or drugs with hunting. Check your vision to ensure you eyesight is not impaired. Your health is as important as safety.
  • Discuss safety techniques when talking about hunting. Make safety as much a part of your conversation as calling, location, and set-up.
  • Know and obey your state game laws
  • Dress appropriately – layers in cooler weather and fabrics that wick – not absorb – perspiration.
  • Invest in quality boots – once your feet get cold the rest of your body is soon to follow.








Hunts & Activities

Upland Game Bird Hunts
Game bird hunting for pheasant, chuckar and quail is open from September 1st through April. We have over 257 acres of prime bird cover. Hunting is available 6 days a week and can be booked for morning as well as afternoon outings. Guided hunts with our dogs are available or you can supply your own dog and hunt at your leisure. Hunts consists of 1 to 4 shooters. No license required. So loosen up and stretch out those legs and be sure to keep your eye on the target. Our pheasants have been clocked at 60 miles per hour when in full flights.

Top Flight Conditioned Chuckars For Sale - Available Year Round
Our top flight conditioned chuckars are available throughout the year and will test the aim and swing of any shooter as well as the nose of both young and mature hunting dogs. They can be used for gun club stockings and/or dog training.

Sporting Clays
We offer a nine-station sporting clay course. It's an excellent way to warm-up before the hunt or just a great time by itself. Remember, aim…swing…and squeeze the trigger – don't pull it!

Deer Hunts
There is nothing more cunning, elusive or challenging then our Pennsylvania White Tail! It's not just a tradition in our state…it's a way of life. This is hunting at its essence!

If you're considering a once in a lifetime challenge where all your hunting, tracking and shooting skills are tested, then give us a call we'll do our best to introduce you and Mister Buck. A Pennsylvania license is required for the two-week season. Rifle only – shotguns not allowed. Lodging, breakfast, bag lunch, transportation, guided as well as self-guided hunts included. We offer tree-stand.

Turkey Hunts
Like Pennsylvania deer hunting, a license is required to hunt Mister Tom in the Spring as well as in the fall – the latter season includes both sexes. Turkey hunts are limited to one hunter. We guide, call and you shoot. You can't beat that arrangement.

Tower Shoots
This is one of our most sought after activities and one of the most exciting. Our tower shoot includes 8 stations with 16 shooters. In lieu of clay pigeons we release 150 pheasants. It's more challenging and they taste a heck of a lot better.
